Section 1 (use SVG to display graphic)

Requirements (Important): To view the maps in this group, your browser must be MS Internet Explorer v6(or better) with Adobe SVG Viewer v3.0 plug-in.

Maps’ features:
ü     Maps can be zoomed, panned, and clicked to reveal the associated information (but they are not GIS)
ü     Lists of map feature names, in Thai and English, may be used to navigate to the locations of your interest
ü     Layers of map features can be switched on and off selectively
ü     Latitude / longitude or UTM coordinates of pointer location can be read dynamically at all zoom levels
ü     Distances along complex paths can be measured interactively
ü     Users can test the level of their knowledge about the map themes by taking some incorporated quizzes
ü     Map features have active links pointing to accompanying websites, photographs, and graphics
ü     Gallery of photographs in use as resources to the Greater Bangkok Map may be viewed as a photo album (IE only).

 

Section 2 (Google Maps API)
Map mashups:

These Google Maps Mashups require latest version of Firefox, MSIE, Opera, or Netscape.

·        Google Maps-API Application for Digitizing (GMAD)  allows you to head-up digitize on Google maps and generate results in SVG or Google Maps mashup, here are typical samples:- SVG map, Google Maps mashup1, mashup2  GMAD  (latest version) using API_v2 with updated maps and satellite imageries is now available to try.
